Default Sirius Will Not Open

I have a 2020 Explorer Limited with an active Sirius radio subscription. If the engine is off for a long period of time, such as overnight, there is no problem, Sirius comes right on. I turn the ignition off for a short period of time, such as refueling, when I get back in and start the engine, Sirius will not be recognized. The other radio sources, AM & FM work fine, but Sirius can not be selected. I have tried turning the radio off before turning the engine off, but that didn't help. Still no Sirius. Suggestion?

I have a 2021 Explorer that has exactly the same problem. My dealer worked on it Thursday for long enough to verify the issue and my observations. Sirius did some work with me over the air and concluded the radio was the problem. After consulting with Ford, the consensus is the Sirius module is bad. They have ordered a replacement. If that doesn't fix it they well replace the entire radio.

Thanks you so much!! I'll be scheduling an appointment with my dealer soon to fix the rear view camera (second time) and I will bring this information to their attention.

I updated to Version 3.0 and it jacked up my system. A Master reset didn't remove it or repair the issues. Worked absolutely fine with the last version. Sometimes on a startup, the radio will default to a radio station, or random, or, it will be powered off. Most times the mode buttons are locked, and turning the radio off/on will correct the problems.

Updates and power cycling have had no effect on the problem I am having. When mine is dead, it is dead. The only thing that helps is time. Five to ten minutes will usually bring it back to life. It will be interesting to see if a new module actually solves the problem

My new part is in. However, due to the lack of personnel they won't be Abe to install it until 1/12/22. I am hopeful it will work. When I talked to Sirius yesterday they seemed to think the fix would be solid.

Well, the first attempt failed. I believe more parts need to be ordered.

Today they worked on it for many hours. Don't know yet if it worked. Today it was all programming which was directed by Ford.

Time will tell.

The weather has been bad so I haven't had a lot of opportunity to properly test the radio function but, thus far, it seems to be continuing to function properly.

I will update when I have had more opportunity to test it at length.

It is still a bit early to claim that the fix worked but, after 10 days of use it seems as if it did. I have done things that in the past would have caused it to malfunction and it has worked properly.

I hope they got it.
