sounds when making turns
Hi guys,
I need some help in this sounds im getting, from yesterday when im making a "U" turn or if i have the steering wheel turned MORE to the right or the left side. it is making a loud sound and it is struggling to drive. but when i keep the wheel straight it is fine as in drive normal and no sounds also. does any one had this kinda of issue before? |
Four wheel drive vehicles have a tendency to make all sots of noise when locked in 4 wheel drive and driven on dry pavement. So,,, is it in 4WD and being driven on dry pavement with the hubs locked?
|
it is on 4WD auto and is driven on dry and snow right now, but the thing is never had this noise all this time. and it is only when having the wheel turned to the right or the left as if to make a U turn
|
I would suspect if it made the noise in only one direction there could be a problem.
Take it out of 4WD and see if it makes any noise then. If not , the tires could be scrubbing when on dry or not slippery pavement and it puts a lot of stress on the wheels and system. There should be some info in the owner's manual regarding driving on dry surfaces in 4WD. |
I got the ABS code scanned that was coming up and the code is C1234.
i checked with my mechanic and he is saying it is on the Drivers side front left but i checked online and it says Passanger side Front. can some one confirm that please. |
From what I could check it is listed as the passenger side.
Usually you would have noticed something unusual when applying the brakes although loss of a wheel speed signal might have the system trying to compensate since it might think one wheel is locking up. This can get a little involved if you don't know what you are looking for. Could be sensor, connections, or even wheel bearing and it goes on from there. |
so checked what the noise was and its the wheel hub bearing from the left front side. going to be replacing it tomorrow hopefully everything will be fixed and good.
|
the mechanic changed the wheel hub bearing on the left side, but the sound is still there and he saying it might be the right side now, i dont want to just replace parts without knowing the exact problem. anyone else had any sounds like this when making turns?
|
We all make mistakes, so now just replace the passenger side hub bearing because they both traveled the same amount of miles and that is the better way to handle it.
|
yeah true that, will have to get that done now. thanks Hanky.
