Spring Shackles
 

The rear spring shackles have rotted out of my '93 explorer. I replaced them with some I made from stainless steel bar stock. I made them 2 inches longer than the originals to give the truck a little butt lift. I am wondering if this added length will have any negative effects (i.e. damage the spring).
