strange sound

I have a 2004 Explorer XLT, 42K mileage. I was driving through the Arizona desert last week, 75-80 mph, temperatures outside over 100 degrees. A sound like someone blowing over the top of a soda bottle (remember those?) started coming from the front passenger side window/windshield; I couldn't really tell exactly where it was coming from. I turned off the AC; that didn't stop it. Closing/opening vents didn't stop it. Finally opening the passenger window helped a little. When I slowed down to regular speeds -- 65-70 mph -- it stopped. Any ideas out there for what could be causing the noise and/or what to do about it? I know, I know, don't drive fast.

Does it happen through the shifting of the gears?

Hey I think I have the same thing. Is yours intermitnent? Mine tends to come and go.Its in the shop right now and they the Mgr. is talking about the rack and pinion suspension inthe rear. My sound seems to originate from teh upper panel rear left. I tabout drove me crazy on a trip to Galveston TX. No matter what we did it wouldn't stop.

I have heard windshield seals do this in the past.
