03 f150 5.4 slow off bottom end?
Whats up with the power not hitting until 2,500 RPM's, how can I improve bottom end performance?

You may want to consider getting shorter gears for your rear end, like 4.56's this will give you a good slingshot effect off the line, but you will have to keep it around 75 on the highway or your gas mileage will take a dump, due to the higher RPM's. Check your Manual to see what your truck is running now. I am going from 3.55's to 4.10's on my Dodge Ram for the same reason. Good Luck

It's a modular engine, they make power later in the rpm range than the older engines, but they also rev a bit farther. You may consider a K/N FIPK intake or something similar and a decent cat-back exhaust. I have a 2005 FX4 4X4 with the FIPK intake and Gibson exhaust and the bottom end power it a bit better. Also, since adding these two items, I am getting slightly better MPG and it sounds a-lot better.
