'04 F150 Transmission Problem!
History: I just bought a 2004 5.4L F150 FX4 4x4 SuperCrew with 89k miles and noticed a possible transmission problem.
Symptoms: I'll try to describe it as best as can but with the truck in drive and when I let off the brake the truck starts to move forward like normal, but when I give it gas it feels like the e-brake is on until I reach about 5 mph. The resistance isn't steady, it lightly jerks until it finds its grip and then the truck goes just like it was new and shifts through all the gears and works perfectly normal. Another way to explain it, is it feels like the rear tires are spinning out in dirt before they grip and the truck gains full traction. It seems to be more noticeable when reversing up an incline.
About: Trucks transmission fluid seems to be normal, but then again I just bought the truck and might have just been changed. The engine seems to be working just fine and I don't think this prob in engine related, I think its somewhere past the motor.
Help!: I have searched and searched multiple forums and I cant seem to find any postings that describe this symptom. If I missed a post I can you help me find the post I should be reading? If not can someone tell me what this problem might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
