1977 f150 w/ 302 engine rebuild

I have a 1977 f150 I want to rebuild the 302 but trying to get a little more power I was looking at a summit racing rebuild kit. I however have no idea about rebuilding an engine I have help if I need it but am trying to get information about different bore sizes and the best kit for a first time engine rebuild. I also was wondering how I match new lifters to any elected kit? And will I need a new cam? I love my truck and just want to do it right any advise would be great.

A popular bore size for the 302 is to go from a 302 to a 306. I think that's .030 over.

One of the best ways to match the equipment is to get the Summit support people to let you know if the items will work together.

I don't know what condition your cam is in, but if you want to get more power one of the best ways is to replace the cam with something more aggerssive.
