Default f150 xl v8 swap?

I am looking at buying a 2000 f150 XL with a 5 speed and the 4.2 v6. The truck has 120000 on it so i was wondering how difficult/expensive a v8 swap would be. not quite sure whatv8 i would be willing to swap because of the price. Has anyone done one similar to this? Money is most likely not a problem unless it is outrageously expensive and not worth it...

well, that opens up a whole bag of worms. you would me better off to go buy a truck with a v8 already in it. it would be cheaper. with the newer trucks you will have to change the wiring harness to a v8 harness, a v8 computer management system not to mention your exhaust and get new brackets for your accessories such as a/c powersteering, and so forth it would be a real headache, if your truck was a little older i'd say go for it, but then again thats the beauty of carbeuration. no computers to make you pull your hair out. hope this helps. if you decide to go for it, good luck with it.
