1991 F150 refrigerant

What type of refrigerant do I use on this vehicle. I have been told to use R164A but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks,
Harley

It is either R-12 or R134A. Look at the connections on the lines. If the threads are on the outside, (looks like a small tire valve) use the R-12. If there are no threads and it is a quick disconnect style, use the R134A

1991 F150 refrigeant

Thanks way2cool, i appreciate the help. Another issue is there is what looks like a pressure switch attached to the top rear of the ac compressor. There are two wires coming out of he top of this switch. Where do they connect to? They have been cut and I cannot find the other ends anywhere.

Thank you

If it is in the rear of the compressor, it has to be a high pressure cut out switch. Here is a wiring diagram of the system. Hope it helps. You may need to enlarge it a little.
