Does a 1997 F150 with power windows, locks and mirrors have a GEM? If so where's it located? Thanks

 

It does,, a GEM/Central Timer module.. Behind the left side dash panel and piggy backs the fuse panel..

 

I have problems with my left window not working. Put a new master panel in and worked great for a few days. I was told the GEM regulated the left window. However I have no other electrical malfunctions besides the window. I have a different window motor but haven't tried it yet. If it is bad is there anywhere besides Ford to buy one??

 

I have 97 with same problem window only goes up in park or neutral. Replaced gem last night didn't fix problem. once in a while 4x4 light comes on. Where is master panel?

 

Since it only works in park or neutral, check the MLP (neutral safety switch) on the side of the transmission.
