2000 Ford F-150 4x4 Transmission

I have a 2000 ford f150 4x4, I believe i Have Clutch Chatter in between 2-3 gear, Took it to a shop they said it maybe in overdrive, i dont think so but whatever, they want to charge me 1500. Many have heard of Supershops.com good co.. They have full rebuild trannys for 699 with 2 year warranty unlimited miles. I was gonna pick one up, my main Question is, If i Replace my transmission how do i Know if I need a New Tourque Converter, what are the signs that the Tourque Converter goes bad that i would need to replace it? Please Help, Thanks!

Anytime the trans is replaced for whatever reason, good practice is to always replace the torque converter at the same time. Whatever wear is on the trans is also on the converter. Also , the lines to and from the trans cooler should be flushed with clean fluid.

Also, most rebuilders will not warranty if the converter is not changed at the same time.
