2002 F150 130k miles want some advice

hey all,

im new to this forum and I’m definitely not well versed in mechanics. I have a 2002 f150 5.4 triton with 130k miles. I really want the truck to last a long time cause I’m a cheap ass and can’t afford a new one.

What do do you guys recommend I do for maintenance and replacing parts on a “high miles” pick up.

Super vague But I wanted some input

thanks

For starters , regular oil changes with the recommended grade and type oil .The maintenance schedule in your owner's manual is always a good guide to follow.

Yes, stay on top of the regular oil and filter changes. That includes the obvious air and fuel filters. You also want to flush the cooling system and for water, use de-ionize or distilled water. With having so many miles on it, we need to reduce any possible particulates in the water (TDS).
Get that transmission done as well and follow these guys (this site)for recommendations for types of oils and fluids.
Welcome on board.
