Default 2wd to 4wd

I have a 1991 Ford F-150 4x4 with a 302. I'm trying to take the frontend, transmission, and transfer case and put in a 1996 Ford F-150 2wd with an 300 inline 6. So my question is will the transmission and transfer case work coming from a 302 to a 300 inline 6. I'm pretty sure the front end will slide in without a problem. Or if the transfer case would bolt up to the transmission I already have in my 1996 Ford F-150.

Welcome

5.0 and 4.9 use the same bell housing pattern. T case alone wouldn’t be a bolt on component on 2wd.

You never mentioned manual or auto trans , but the flywheel-flex plate would be different weight and balance from the 6 to 8.
