I pulled code p1406 on 1996 f-150 with a 5,0 engine. I checked online and got some info that it would be a downstream hose loose, plugged or bad dpfe. I went to the parts store and bought a new dpfe just in case. The problem is I can not find anything that lookes like the part that was sold to me. Where is the dpfe sensor. A picture would be great.

 

I found it. It sure wasn't where I thought it would be. I will chang the sensor out tomarrow.

 

make sure you check your hoses connecting to it as well

 

Yea, the old ones were a gray / sliver color , The newer ones are black , 2 hoses an a wire connector , be careful with the hoses an plug them back it the correct port , ( Ive seen guys hook them up wrong ) disconnect your battery for like 5 min. then test drive , good luck
