Brakes "pulsing" and rough ride 2018 F-150 (11k mi)
Hi,
I have a 2018 F-150 with 11,000 miles on it. In the past few months I have noticed my brakes feel like they're sort of "pulsing" as in they are not fully braking. It isn't like when the anti-lock brake engages but more like stuttering. (It's hard to explain) Also I have noticed that I am feeling every bump in the road. The tire pressure is the same as when it was new. Is this normal for Fords? I would appreciate any opinions before I bring it to the dealer so they don't "blow me off" saying "it's normal" when in fact it might not be. |

The sensation is felt in the peddle, any indication in the wheel on braking?
Factory tire inflation was generally on the low scale of the tire specs for a softer ride. What’s the pressure? |
Nothing felt via the steering wheel, just the pedal. The last time I checked the tire pressure it was at 38 psi.
BTW- I have put the truck in neutral to verify it wasn't the transmission. I still feel all the bumps in the road. I do not feel them at higher speeds (over 45mph) |
It seems we are chasing down 2 different problems.
One is the pulsing in the brake pedal when making a brake application The other is a ride quality issue where you feel every bump in the road . With the ride quality issue do you also feel that on the brake pedal or just in the seat? Do you know if your vehicle engine is turbocharged? If it is an Eco-boost, it should be. One last question, who has been doing the oil changes on your vehicle? There is a very special reason for the oil question and it concerns turbo charged vehicles and LSPI (Low speed pre-ignition). |

I did one of the oil changes myself and the second was done by the dealer. It is an eco-boost engine. |
I forgot I had posted this problem but wanted to let everyone know what the outcome was. I took it to the dealer and they told me the front driver strut was bad and all four brake rotors needed to be replaced. It was all under warranty so no out of pocket for me. The service writer told me they had never seen this problem (four bad rotors) before.
