I purchased the same truck that you are looking at on 30 April 2010. The listed price for mine was at 32k + Tax + Title. I talked them down to 18k and traded in my old SUV with neg value of 10k. I believe that it should come down to about 18-21k when next years model comes out. They were offering an incentive of 4500 cash back towards the purchase of a new one. You may want to ask them about that and see if they extended that offer. Then use your talking skills to have them come down on the price.

I can't answer your question on the axle ratio, I just got the base line. I tow a 30ft trailer and pontoon boat monthly. I am already getting about 15 miles to the gallon but when I pull it drops down to about 11 - 12 miles.

I would think that an F150 is the most reliable truck out there as far as durability. I would check out the Ford Challenge videos. The matched the F150 up against the RAM, Silverado, Tacoma, and two others. Out of all the tests the F150 out performed and proved it had the best suspenstion, rigid frame, and towing abilities. It did not do so well on the mileage though. I can't remember but I think the Silverado or Tacoma out performed it as far as mileage was concerned.

I have not had any issues with mine. I have not heard of anyone else (Friends or Co-Workers) I know having issues either.
