Can I adjust the linkage on 1992 f150?

Replaced the broken shift tube, plunger and bushings.

Can't get it into Park or reverse without lots of fiddling. Just feels like it's not engaging completely. (This was a problem before the shift tube and plunger broke.)

Is there a way to adjust the linkage or cable or ? to engage the gears the way it should.

If you follow the linkage down to where it goes into the tranny there is a little plastic piece over the linkage that pops into a link that is on the tranny. That plastic piece wears out and can make it tough to get into the proper selected gear. Give that a look if you haven't already.
