disconnect clutch and brake pedals F-150 1991

This pertains to my 1991 F-150 manual trans 5 speed 4.9 L truck!!!
I have to replace the bracket that the pedals and the axel rod ,that goes through all the pedals. When I push the clutch in, the brake pedal moves a little and vice versa because the bushings are gone and the holes in the bracket that the axel rod goes through are worn oblong. The first step is to disconnect the pedals, but I cannot find any directions anywere!

If I disconnect the pedals, then I can pull the whole bracket straight down and reverse the process, but i cannot figure out how to disconnect the brake pedals! Can anyone give me directions on how to disconnect the brake pedals and take out the bracket?

I am handy with that truck since over the last 20 years I have replaced the rear axel bearings and seals, lock pin in the pumpkin ball, front bearings and seals, radiator, pulleys, power steering pump, starter, fuel pump relays, fuel sending units etc..... but I cannot find any information on how to disconnect the brake pedal and clutch pedal.
Thanks, Rich

I have never had to do that job before either, but I would think your best bet will be to start by lowering the steering column so you can access the pedal assy. Gosh I hope you know a midget because there isn't a heck of a lot of room to work under there.
Don't know if it would be helpful to remove the speedo and gauge assy so you can see what you're doing. Maybe someone with more experience on that job will reply and offer the benefit of their experience.
