ecoboost mositure problem

I have a 2013 3.5 F150. Two times this loss of power with the engine warning light coming on has happened. Once at say 10,000 miles and just the other day at 29500 miles. I have extended warranty. Both times this happened when I was pulling my boat. It was raining and I pulled over to pass and hit the gas. Both times I took the truck to the dealer and they said there was no record on the truck computer(???). I have read on line about a software upgrade for the 2013 and 2014 models that had the dealers take off the seals that they have put on( mine has none) to stop the moisture and did this upgrade. Did not say that it worked or not. I have some problems with this.
1. I do not know if this upgrade is true because of the source.
2. Both times I took the truck to my dealer within 200 miles of when the problem happened and they said there was not record on the motor computer. I have an outboard that if a warning sign comes on it shows when it happened and a problem #. I find it hard that Ford does not do at least this or better.
