Exhaust Problems

Does anyone have a diagram for f-150 4.6l V8 4wd supercab exhaust system?

secondly can the flange between the manifold and the converter be welded or does it need to be bolted withthe flange? studs are stripped and have great fear of breaking them off when trying to remove them..

thanks
Rich

You might try soaking those studs for a while, long while, with a good penetrating oil then apply heat to them and usually they will come loose before snapping off. Also there are special clamps that I have used for GM pipe and flange problems. They look like pipe hangers, but they will hold if the studs snap off. They are made especially for this type problem. A well stocked Auto supply store may have them if you need them. Worth looking into before you get too involved. hanky

In reply to first question; Auto supply stores usually have the specific diagram you are seeking. They might be able to make a copy for you. I know Walker Mfg makers of exhaust systems have diagrams showing each individual part in any vehicle exhaust system right down to how many and what size clamps needed. When you go to the supply store thats how they know exactly what you need. hanky
