F-150 Spark Issues

I recently bought a 1987 Ford F-150 with the 5.0L V8 and a 4 speed manual. Yes 4, not a 4 and overdrive. There is 12 V reading at the coil, 12V reading at the top of the distributor. But no voltage when cranking on either the ignition coil or the ICM. Which I checked by back probing it and cranking. ICM is reading 10V on "on". I have ordered a new ICM and distributor hoping that will fix it. Is it possible I just have a bad ICM? It is the one mounted on the distributor. I am just going to replace it all and pray that fixes it. Otherwise what else could there be? Some people say you need to run 6V directly to the coil which my starter switch on the inner fender does have a 6v output. Do I need to add that to somewhere in the wiring harness?

When these 2 talk, you listen and absorb their knowledge like sponge. I had 2 teachers like scanner danner and I learned a TON from the Oldskool, These 2 are beast in the mechanic field, pick up on that and use it to smash on life God Bless.
