Greetings

Aloha from Honolulu Hi. just joined the forum. I have a 97 99 and a2002 Ford f-150.

My son just blew the head gasket on the 2002 took it to the shop and got an estimate of 3,500 and that's if the heads aren't crack. I could not believe it. I know it's a big job but, I did not expect it to that much. Am I wrong.

Guys claim to have removed a head or heads without removing the engine or cab , but the usual method is to remove (lift up) the cab. Another one of Ford's better ideas.

Yeah! I hear you man. I got as far as removing everything up until the intake removed the exhaust manifold. Never removed heads before but just thought of record everything so I don't forget what steps I did to get there. As far as taking the cab off or lifting it up makes a lot of sense making it easier to work on it. But, I wouldn't know where to start. Thanks for the reply.
