Leveling Kit, Tires, Rims, Toppers
I bought a 2008 F150 FX4 about three months ago and I want to beef it up a little bit. I was looking for general advice on a few things.
First: Leveling Kits-What is the best way to raise things up with out spending a fortune. I was thinking about a 3 inch leveling kit in the front and a 1 inch lift in the back. Is this possible? What would be the best choice for a reasonable price? How big of tires would I be able to fit? Second: Tires-I have been doing some research and have narrowed it down between two companies Pro Comp and Bf Goodrich. I dont want anything too aggressive, but I also do a lot off road (nothing extreme) driving. Which of these two Tire companies would be the best? Is there any other competitive priced companies? Third: Rims-I think I want some black aluminum cast rims, is there a major difference for someone like me who is not going to be pushing them that hard? I want something tuff but yet again something reasonably priced. Any good suggestions? Fourth: Topper/Cap-I want a Leer fiberglass cap. Is there anywhere I can get one of these used? Where would be the best place to buy a new one? I want this transformation to happen in the next two or three months and would appreciate any help on the subject I can get! Hans |
RE: Leveling Kit, Tires, Rims, Toppers
Look at COOPER's S/T or S/T-C tire. These were designed and developed in Australia. The tread has a slight angle causing them to be self cleaning. I have run these on my Explorers and Ranger 4x4's in some pretty mucky places while hunting. No problems and never stuck and that's while frame deep in muck.
