Picture this,
The belt cloud be slipping and wearing faster and slipping more and etc, etc.
Depending on what the belt drives like alternator, power steering, water pump, and A/C if equipped. Sometimes the tensioner just freezes due to lack of lubrication and the belt starts to slip. Much cheaper to correct tensioner problem, if that is the problem, than to wait for an overheating, dead battery condition or lose the belt altogether and be going down the highway with a sudden loss of power steering assist. Did I convince you to get it fixed asap?

Hi! Your serpentine belt is an essential part of your car engine. It is responsible for charging your battery, cooling your engine and making it easy to steer your vehicle. If your serpentine belt fails then your engine can die shortly after.
