motor swap question

Im looking for responses from anyone knowledgeable on this subject. Ive got a 94 f150 302 5.0. EFI. And i'm wanting to put a motor in it that'll just effortlessly drop in and bolt up. I'm wanting a bigger motor to give me a little more power to push 20 inch rims with 35 inch mudders. I've been told I can just drop a 351Windsor in it. But....i'm wanting to keep the EFI..i dont wanna go Carbureted. And if im correct..all 351w's we're carbureted..correct me if i'm wrong please.. And I don't want the work of just camming my 5.0 just yet... So, any ideas? I'm all ears

the 5.8 will just bolt right upas long as you get the right year of engine like out of a 92. the firing orders are different but that can be redone easily enough. I should know cause I've done it. and welcome to the sight

If I remember correctly, there was no difference between the 5.0 and 5.8L fuel injection. As far as I was concerned, EEC IV was pretty much all identical. The fuel pressures and spark timing were the same. There may have been a minor difference with the 5.0 fuel injectors not being able to spray quite enough fuel when cold, but I think they were all the orange top injectors, anyway.
The firing order doesn't matter, as all the PCM does is monitor the SPOUT (spark output) from the ICM (ign. control module). The acutal distribution of the spark is controlled by the big round think in the front of the engine; if memory serves correctly, it was called a distributor.
This was a bolt in conversion. And, one of the easiest.
Have fun!
