Help Me!
I have an 1991 with a 5.0L. that won't start.
I felt a miss a few times before it stopped running.
when it stopped, it back fired once and that was the last the 302 ran.
Has anyone else had that happen to you?
What else can I do.........

Could be a clogged fuel filter, air filter, etc. Does it still turn over?

Thanks,
I've changed the fuel filter, nothing..........I need to check fuel flow.
replaced the coil , wires cap and rotor....I have spark.
Did the dist.stuff.
Is it the timing ?
I'm ready to remove the timing cover and check the timing there..........but I don't think it's anything there.
what about the brain box, people tell me to replace that.....but we talk money there.
Reply back with anything, OK?
Thanks

I also have a 1991. I cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) and the Trottle body. This has imporoved the starting problem. Also Check your impedance on the IACV. It should be between 9 to 11 ohms. If its not get a new IACV. Let me know how it works out.

If the spark plug has spark and the air filter is clean and you have good fuel pressure it's likely an electrical or computer malfunction. Look for bad fuses and dirty battery cables first. How many miles are on your truck?

If high miles could be a clogged converter too.
