Hello everyone. I'm Shannon, and I am trying to learn a little more about my 1986 f-150.
It's been in the family for 15 years, and we love "the purple beasty." Over the last year I have really gotten into jeeps with my husband, but now I want to get into the truck.
My husband bought it used a very long time ago, and had a 3" body lift and 35" tires put on. It looks like it has lift blocks under the leaf pack in the rear...or are those big boogers stock? Does any one have pics of the stock rear suspension? I think the main leaf is starting to invert, but I'm looking at it in comparison to a cherokee lol.

This truck used to be his daily driver, and about 10 years ago he completely stripped the interior, and repainted the exterior himself. Unfortunately after having kids and getting other vehicles, we've been letting it sit too much. The poor truck had moss everywere on the exterior! (hey we live in WA ok?;)) Anyhoo, I have pulled the interior again, and I'm almost done redoing all that. (it was red when stock, then grey, now black.:D) I'm hoping to find a 1 stage paint that is close to the current color, because it just wouldn't be our truck if it was a different color!!! The years it spent in CA did major damage, and the clear coat and paint are in pretty rough shape. :o
It has a couple of quirks, and if anyone has ideas, please feel free to share them! When you are reversing, it bucks like crazy after a few feet. The E-break gets stuck "on" and doesn't release when you pull the handle. I've just gotten used to the bucking and reverse a few feet, ease off the gas, reverse a bit, ease off etc lol.
Oh and WHAT are those rubber rings stuck in the coils? the are placed in the bottom of the coil. One of them is cracking through. they are about an inch thick?

It looks like the rear has a block lift on it:

The front may then be using a leveling kit:

nice truck

Hey you got a nice lookin truck there!! Im currently building my 86 f150 and that is definetly not a stock block right there. mine has nothing there. so you got a block kit in there. But there are a lot of things you can do to ur truck to make it different!! im currently in the middle of sanding the cab, hood, and new fenders!! so I have a lot of work to do in comparison to yours!! good luck on your build!!

It's been a long time since I logged on here. The truck has had a lot of love lately. The rear brakes were locked up, and we figured, screw it, and replaced it all. (It all needed it.) Replaced everything but the rotors, drums, steel lines and brake booster. It wasn't running very well. Once the RPM's got up to about 3500, it would stumble, drop the RPMS and try to die. That was a big head scratcher...until my father in law found a sensor that was unplugged. DOH! It's running really good now. After a few test drives, I noticed a LOUD wheel bearing, so, new front wheel bearings were put in. (Both front wheels had play in them.)
The interior has been completely redone. We even got lucky at the junk yard, and found matching dash pieces to replace cracked and busted parts. It's got new carpet, new headliner, new dash pad, new (old) bezels, and repainted door panels and trim.
What's left? Front suspension. New tie rods (all of em) new ball joints, and I had to order new hub screws. So far the hub screws are the most annoying part to get. It's got super winch hubs, and the "universal" hub screws don't fit. so I should get those in about a week.
The paint on top of the cab, and the hood is getting bad, but she still looks good. ;)

This right here was not fun. The pedal/clutch assembly had to come out. The rod running through there was rusted, and it screeched. Attachment 2418
