no fuel or spark at spark plug
 

My fuel pumps are working and the engine turns over fine,but I`m not getting any fuel or spark at the spark plugs. It`s a 96 F150 300 6 cylinder. It was running fine when I parked it and the the next morning I had this problem. However a few days before I did notice that it kind of skipped going down the highway. It just did that one time and ran great for 2 or 3 more days. I have checked all the fuses and they are good. I am not up to date on all of this electronic equipment. Any thoughts as to what might be wrong would be very helpful.

there are several things that would cause this problem. low fuel pressure is just one of them. there is a silver colored box located on the drivers side fender well next to the firewall. that is just two of things that could give you problems like what's going on with your truck. the first thing you should check is the pressure at the fuel rail.

would the fuel pressure effect the spark plugs not getting any fire?

no it doesn't we need to rule that out so that we can get it started without having to get into a problem of no fuel getting to where it needs to be.usually when there isn't any spark the first thing to check would be the coil if no spark the coil could be bad but it's good place to start. you check it by pulling the wire off of the dist. and hold it close to the block while turning the engine over with the key. I usually don't recomend that because if the coil is firing then you stand a good chance of getting shocked. I would use an old spark plug and a pair of insulated gloves to reduce the risk
