Hi guys. I have a '94 F-150 with the 4.9 six in it that is really tired. I'm about to order a remanufactured engine from an outfit that's been doing that since the '40s. My problem is that Ford's intake system is pretty crappy, and I'd like to find something that flows a whole lot better. I'm not up to manufacturing things, so it has to be a bolt-in/on. (I'd love to have something like the old "shaker" thru-hood intake, but that might be a bit difficult)

Exhaust flow is another issue, does anyone make a header for this beast, or do I have to get someone to bend one up?

 

check Clifford Performance. They specialize in six cylinder engines. If you are going with a carb setup, they also have a dual carb intake manifold. That is about $300, and the headers are about $400 with the bolts and shipping.
