Pulling oil pan on a 1997 F150 4.6

Can anyone tell me if the oil pan on a 1997 F150 with a 4.6 can be removed without pulling the motor?

Yes you can.

How hard is it to remove with the engine in place?

I know of a 1997 F150-4.6 with a rod knocking that I can buy cheap.I need to know how hard it would be to remove the oil pan and put oversize inserts in.

Anybody out there?

If you have a rod bearing spinning, or any galling/damage to the journal surface from the hammering rod, chances of polishing the crank journal and just slipping a new bearing in would be pretty lucky.. Usually the failing bearing will let debris travel into the other bearings in the low end as well..
