Default Rear Brakes AND Drums???? What??

I have a 2001 Harley F150, I had a problem with the rear brakes. I pulled off the wheel to see a rotor, I removed the rotor and saw a drum setup. What the hell is that? Is it a drum with rotors or does the drum assembly just work for the emergency brake? I have absolutely no padding left on the drum part of the brakes and the wheel cylinder is shot. Is all this important?

Default RE: Rear Brakes AND Drums???? What??

That brake setup is called 'drum in hat' for which it resembles,, and your correct the drum portion is the ebrake.. The ebrake is cable/mech operated...
