Rim and tire advice

Hello all, I am am new here and recently bought a 2019 f150 stx and I would like to change the tires/rims. The truck has 275/55r20 with stock hankook at2 tires on it. These ride great on the asphalt, but because I do a fair amount of driving on rough rutted and bumpy roads during the summer and fall hunting season, I want to put on a 10 ply tire on it.

In looking around, it seems like there is very little available for 20” rims in a 10 ply, and I have been told that a 10 ply on 20 inch rim drives poorly on asphalt. I think the best option for me would be to put on an 18” rim and that would give me more side wall and cushion in a 10 ply.

Is this a good idea? If so, can some recommend rims and AT type tires for me?

Im not trying to “bling” up my ride, but I do want a set of decent rims and tires.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

jim

Welcome to the site Jim.,
Ever considered Run flats?
Certainly have their Cons, but 20’s shouldn’t be an issue..
