Rubber Plug update
Hi again, that 1' rubber plug that blew off with silicone glued in still popped off.. There was never pressure on that plug anyway, Today I removed the plenem but saw nothing that could be blocking the water ways. Keep in mind that the old plenum didn't even have this water way. The old one didn't even have a spot for the water port with a plug. It is the right one but it just has that dam plug problem. Imagine that!!!!

If that's a manifold and coolant, you have about 16 psi pressure behind the plug and RTV silicone is not going to hold up to that pressure.

I wonder if i can just pipe it into something but i wish i had a view of maybe an 08 ir 09 cause this must be an updated model but no instruction so not sure where to pipe it to. As usual thanks for all your help.

Some vehicles had that coolant passage on the manifold and it was not used.
That rubber cap is supposed to be installed on there with NO SEALANT and clamped tightly. The surfaces must be clean and dry or it will slide off. The other thing is to get the radiator cap tested to confirm it releases at the pressure stamped on the top of the cap that goes on the radiator not the recovery bottle. Either the pressure is excessive and the radiator cap is defective or the clamp is not tight enough.. What happens if you run the engine with the radiator cap loose or off ? Be careful if you decide to run the engine with the radiator cap off. |

Ok I will try the cap and let you know. When I had the cap on I used the clamp that the plug came with and everything was clean and dry just like new. It just blew off to my surprise but it did.I put the manifold on today with RTV so it's drying over night. I will fill it with just water to flush it out after running it for awhile also flush the heater core too. I could just put in a tee and a valve just in case I should have to turn it off Also i wonder how ya fill a system like this..... do ya just pour it in the deguss bottle and keep filling when it gets low... is there a bleader somewhere. I do have the shop manual but it's kinda vauge at this point

If you can , just loosen or open one or two of the highest parts of the cooling syst when filling so most of the trapped air can get out.
