Here is one web site to see some of the stories of spark plug spitting. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/autom...ord_spark.html.

RE: spark plug spitting

It is truly amazing that so few on this board wnat to discuss this problem. I have given up on replacing these plugs at my repair facility, because I do not want to be blamed for a common problem. I have also heard that we will have problems with some of the newer fords with the extended plug motors. Appearantly there are models out there now that have spark plugs that are 6" long and of 2 piece design, and when pulled out the bottom half of plugs stays in head.

RE: spark plug spitting

Ford won't admit that there is a problem now they try to fix it and might have made it worse. Unbelievable. Its seems that if they can make a 6 inch spark plug, they could also develope a "self starting" plug that could be installed into a blown plug hole.
