SYNC and Waze
I recently purchased a 2019 F150. It does not have onboard navigation but I was told I could connect my phone via USB and the phone screen would be displayed on the SYNC screen. I've watched videos and followed instructions but I'm not able to get Waze on my Samsung Galaxy phone to display on SYNC. The SYNC doesn't recognize any mobile apps from my phone. Any thoughts or suggestions? Does Android Auto have an influence - should it be disabled or removed?
Thanks. |
Welcome to the site..
The only apps/Icons that would show up are ones that Apple would recognize or are approved within CarPlay. The only way to bring up most of the apps on my phone to the trucks screen would be with a jail broken phone. It’s a security measure.. My 17 250 doesn’t have NAV and when USB connected I launch Google Maps from my phone screen, enter my address search etc. Or, I can ask SIRI to get my request. When the app is running, the phone screen is mirrored to the trucks display.. |
2014 Edge, just updated Sync, but Sync gives a USB error connecting, even though I get a pop-up to "Approve" USB data on my Android phone. Do I need another app for waze to install/display on my screen?

Is the on screen warning USB/Device not recognized? |
