TransFault Speed Sensor

I am new here, so sorry if this has been asked. I have a 2006 F150 SuperCrew with 4.6 motor. I received a message that read TRANSFAULT and my O/D light was flashing off and on. I was low speeds, and drover about a half block. Turned truck off, and the message and light went off. I had it scanned and it showed code P0722 Output Speed Sensor No Signal. Transmission never slipped, it shifted normally, and no strange noises. About 2 weeks later (this past Tuesday, same thing..) I bought a motorcraft sensor DY-1215-1X, and replaced it. Now my transmission will not shift out of first, and speedometer is not working. O/D and engine light on. This was yesterday. I have not tried to put the old one back in yet, to see what happens. Will have to do that after work. I am the original owner, and truck just hit 219,ooo. Any suggestions?

I really hate to ask this question, where did you purchase the sensor?

If not from Ford,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well .
If from Ford , check the connections for the plug that goes onto the sensor for corrosion,, green stuff inside. If present, can be cleaned out with some WD40 and dried well.

I purchased a MotorCraft sensor from my local parts house, as I always do. I have never had any issues with these parts. After work today, I will put the old one back in, and see what happens. I am feeling like the part they sold me could be wrong. I have done some research, and have learned on one source that the DY 1215 1X is the correct sensor, and on another source, that it is not, and should be the DY 1208 sensor. The old one worked fine, but gave the transfault light two different times. The transmission shifted properly and everything worked. Now, with the new one, no speedometer, and will not shift out of first. The connector looked good as well. I am just confused I guess. Will see what happens after I put the old one back in. Thanks for info.
