i just bought a 91 bronco, with a 5sp and 300 s6. can someone please tell me what gear ratio i have. it dosent have a rear axle. all i have to go by is the front axle code: 01HOJ.

With the front wheels off the ground, lock the front hubs. Then rotate the wheel and count how many times the drive shaft spins. The number of rotations will give you your gear ratio. For example, if the drive shaft has 3-1/4 rotations, then you have 3.27 gears.

 

i ended up counting the teeth on the ring and pin, and found out that its a 3.73

 

Well that works, too.
