i have a 95 ford f-150 5.0 and need to know my gear ratio. i have the tag off the rear diff and it is chicken sratch to me. the first line is s833j the second line is 3L 3.1 8.8 4h18. what does that mean my ratio is 3:1??

 

Using the 3L 3.1 from your tag, you have a 3:73.1 Limited Slip axle. This is a good overall towing/highway ratio. Ifit wasan open differential, the tag would have a 37 3.1 on it.
