whining noise from engine when cold

what would cause a triton v8 to whine only when it is cold? i can get it to go away just by letting off the gas or stepping on the gas. it is not a steady whine. its in an 2004 F150. it doesn't go away once the engine warms up either.

If it's a squealing noise, you may have a weak belt tensioner which is fairly common on those engines

honestly man, its just a ford thing. i've had 6 different ford trucks and everyone of them did it

I think it's just a cold weather car thing...
