RE: 11-97 F-250 NOT SHIFTING

You will only be able to check for a loose vacuum line on the modulator, and it's likely not that. (By the way if your manufacture code is 11/97 it is considered a '98 Model). Unfortunately the testers for the electronics are too expensive for any normal person and if the OD is broken you could be killed by the spring upon trying to remove it with a standard tool - IT REQUIRES A SPECIAL TOOL FOR DISASSEMBLY -without the tool it's disassembly at risk of injury or death. The disassembly tool is more affordable than the electronic one provided you even have the experience to know what tool to look for. But it's likely an electronic glitch anyhow. It's a lot easier to go to a trans. shop that makes use of these tools everyday than to sit and take the two months to learn it all yourself.
