1999 F-350 4x4

Hello all...I just bought a 99 F-350 (75,000 miles) 4x4 Standard shift. I was hoping for some help with spark plugs..I heard of horror stories of plugs that have stayed too long in the heads. Should I be worried.? Should I just change them to be on the safe side?

(yes I posted the same thread in the new lounge but nobody replied,,)

If you can check with a Ford dealer Parts dept. Give them your VIN # and they can tell you from that if you have one of the engines that could have that problem. All engines are not the same even the 5.4's.

The 99 Triton V10 under 'normal' driving conditions plug change interval is 100K.

They do have issues with the narrow band of plug threads, but not all take the threads with the plugs if carefully removed and tightened. There's a thread replacement tool to repair the damaged holes if the problem should occur with yours if/when changed..

Just be careful and make sure you use the correct size wrench and take your time. You can also shoot some PB blaster on there to help loosen up the threads.
