2000 E-250 Headlights

Hey Ya'all
Great site, now, here's my dilemma. Love everything about my truck, except for the generic headlights. looked at upgrading bulbs, but theres lots out there. Also looked at HID aftermarket, but its all MIC crap. anyone have a suggestion or recommendation on upgrading them, do lots of driving and night time lighting lacks severely..Thanks!!

Welcome aboard Steve..

We now live in the mountains and the stock HL's do lack distance and candle power! City drive'n is no problem. With the consentration of deer here, I catch myself holding the 'flash to pass' in the area's of concern to trigger low/high illumination.. Always drive with my Low beam/driving lamps on as well on the dark roads.

I'm not up to speed on the best lamps out there, but I was going to try a set of Silver Stars Ultra's (or their HP Halogen for a bit of an upgrade over OE) So many irons in the fire, I always seem to put it off :) I want some extra brightness too with a more neutral color, but don't want the shadows that the super white/bright create or get 'flashed' al the time. No blue flickering lights for me!! Maybe someone will chime in with some real life experience, but thats where I'm leaning..

I have the same concerns, we have a lot of deer here and due to narrow roads....I was looking at replacement bulbs, but there's like 20 diff kinds all claiming to be the brightest,best,superduper..i'd rather someone else..who has bought some to tell me whats biggest,best,brightest..Thanks for the welcome..Steve

Considering the damage that can be done if striking a deer, I had drivers swear by the two plastic deer warning devices that we used to install on those vehicles that drove near deer areas. Once I installed them ,we never had any more problems with deer running in front of our vehicles. It worked for us and could maybe that little bit of extra insurance to prevent hitting a deer.
