2018 Super duty F250 hood movement
 

I have a 2018 F250 crew cab 4x4 6.2L gas. My hood has movement in high winds, higher speeds and especially when a semi-trucks passes me. I have gone through several hood delflectors/bug shields over the past 3 years. The clips often break on the bug shields from the movement. The hood and the bug shields are moving and shaking at higher speeds and passing vehicles. While driving I can see the hood moving at the seems that meet the fenders. The fenders have no movement.
I've checked all the hood brackets, adjustment posts and latch assembly. The latch is solid and the hood seems to be nice and tight when physically checked.
I have given up on the deflectors. I've been through 3 different brands. Even the tape-on type won't stay on.
I've been scratching my head over this for a few years now. I make many long trips and I'm guessing the highway speeds are part of the problem.
I have even checked several hoods on trucks similar to mine too feel the resistance at the latch and don't see a big difference.
Could this be due to a faulty hood that is structurally weak? This just can't be right..

My 17 buffets as well, mostly from larger air impact from oncoming semi's etc. like yours (if close enough in lanes)
The aluminum panels are strong, but I'd suspect the turbulent impact from an oncoming air mass/s gets under the leading edges causing the panel to deflect.

+1 for my 2006 doing it as well.

My solution has been to pass the semis, not the other way around! LOL!

just came across a similar situation with another manufacturer and the fix was to place some foam under the mat pinned to the underside of the hood between the hood sheet metal and the ribs of the underside of the hood This apparently stiffened the sheet metal enough to get rid of the problem..
