6.0
Ok I know im a newb and comming on a little strong, but im just curious who really believes the 6.0 is a good engine. Im not trying to start anything or saying one thing is better than another, but I just want to hear what you guys have to say about it.
I have a 2004 6.0 F350 DRW, 5spd auto,4x4, 4.10 gears. I pull a 12,800 pound 37' Montego Bay with 3 slides. Have over 60,000 miles with no engine problems what-so-ever. The only problem I've had with this truck is the Warn hubs stuck in the "on" position. Dealer said it was because I didn't use them enough. I pull in mountains, flat ground, desert, cold, whatever. Try to run it around 65 to 70. Plenty of power, purrs likea kitten. I don't know what the "history" iswith the 6.0 but Ihave several friends with the sametrucksthat pull5th wheels like me and none have anyproblems with the Ford. The only problem I'veheard about is injector fouling due to the small size of the orifice on the 6.0.It has two filters though so keep em clean and that shouldn't happen. I am verypleased with this truck. I had a 2000 V-10before and this thing will pull the gas engine in the ground. I put a Banks powerpack kit on the V-10 and it still wouldn't keep up with the 6.0 diesel. So I traded it in. I get 10 mpgpulling and 17.5 empty.
Hope this helps you decide. Whatever you do, get what you like and forget about brand loyalty. It's a truck man, not a woman. If you don't like it, get another one.

I have the 6.0 and it has been alright. Two recalls to date which made no difference(they were minor). The only problem i have is when i set the cruise control at 70mph i hear the turbo rev every 7-8 minutes. I am thinking the trans is slipping. Otherwise i am getting 19.3 mpg at 38000 miles. Knock on wood no major problems. Pulls VERY well and brakes the tires loose if you nail it at a light.
