'75 f-250 fuel issue

Hi I have a '75 f-250 camper special with a 390 in it. I replaced the carb because it was to many cfm' s for the motor so I put another 4 barrel on it and the new carb had a rebuild done to it, but now I have problems starting it after it has sat approx. 20 hours but with a little starting fluid it starts right up and staying running and drives just fine. Sometimes I can get It started after it sat for a while, but I have to get it started on the first couple cranks or else it won't start

Have to think back, does this carb have a manual or automatic choke?

Wasn't this covered/corrected in your prior posts?

Who's carb is on it now, what brand?

The carb has an auto choke, and it was sort of corrected the problem before was the truck bogged down and that turned out to be to many cfm's for the motor so that's the reason it bogged down so I got a lower cfm carb and fixed the bogging down problem.

Ya know those 390's could handle a lot of fuel and I would suspect a different carb possibly corrected a lean fuel condition in the old carb. I could be wrong. I always question who rebuilt the carb because a lot of guys don't follow the correct sequence and specs when "rebuilding" a carb. Most store rebuilt carbs will perform OK, but still need to be fine tuned to the individual vehicle, at least that was what I found.
