89 F350 towing questions

Hey guys -

I have an 89 F350 dually with c6 and 460. Am pulling a 21 foot toy hauler dry weight 6000#. The truck was pulling really sluggishly due to a restrictive cat. the cat and exhaust were replaced with a 3" side sweep, tune up done and pressures tested good. I went pulling it today to try out the new exhaust and it pulls fair. Nothing fantastic. Still feels a little slow for the power that should be behind it and the weight it is pulling. Questions:

I believe the gearing is stock - Does anyone know what gears are standard in this rear end ? Is it feasible/advisable to change the gearing to get more torque? I really don't care that much about top end speed.

Also, I did notice a top end exhaust leak after I got back from the test ride. Would intake exhaust leak affect it?

Any other ideas to squeeze more power out of this drivetrain?

Thanks - Pete
