F-250 out of control

Can anyone suggest anything? I have an F-250 with a 3" lift kit and 32" mud tires. I used to get 12 mpg and now it gives 7.8 mpg. I'm fueling 2 to 3 times a week. I'm a contractor and wow! By the way, did I mention it's a V10 6.8? Yeah, I know.

TAKE THE BIG TIRES AND WHEELS OFF WILL HELP A LOT IT TAKES A LOT OF HORSEPOWER TO PULL OVERSIZE TIRES AND WHEELS

I was told as well to put new and larger "sprockets" in the rear. Is this true? I'm in northern Ohio and if not equipped, you get stuck in snow and ice very often.

Do tuners work? Is it a small fix or not worth it at all?
