Question F250 Gas or Diesel?

So I think I got the wrong size truck by getting the 2021 F150 Platinum for towing my 9,000 lbs camper (don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the truck) The truck can tow 12,700 lbs, but with towing that big of a rig on the back of the F150, it just doesn’t feel right….while driving at speed, driving while windy or when a semi passes me.

so now I’m thinking of trading in the F150 for an F250, but I’m on the fence to either get the gas engine or the Diesel engine? I know the diesel has almost twice as much torque, something like 900+lbs of torque and the gas about half that and the diesel would give me way better gas mileage vs the gas, but I have read, the diesel repairs can be pretty expensive vs the gas engine…

So asking people that know more than me… if you were towing a 9,000lbs camper across the USA, which engine would you get in an F250?
