f250 problems

Hey guys,
I new to this forum but ive got a problem with my 2003 f250, When ever the truck has set for a while and has cooled down (transmission) and you try to start it up you have to hold the gas all the way to the floor and try several times before it finally starts up. Once you finally get it started and you try to go it wont let you till the trans temp guage has warmed up, if you do try and go you just crawl. i have a tech 2 scanner and when i plugged it in it read error so that gave me no help. Anyone have any ideas on whats wrong??
