Default F250 Transmission maint.

I am interested in buying a 2004 F250 SD XLT super cab 4x4 with 93k miles. The seller is not local(approx 1000miles away). I requested the truck get the transmission maintenance the rear axle and the brakes. I am being told by the seller that the dealer has recommended the transmission not get serviced because it missed its 30k and 60k scheduled maint and if they open the tranny now there is a great posibilty that the transmission will have more issues in the future. Has anyone every heard of this?
I am also being told that the brakes don't need replacing after 93k miles? They are at 60%.I could understand that because of the probabilty that most of the mileage is highway miles.Anyone have any thoughts on this, particularly the tranny portion. Thanks

Default RE: F250 Transmission maint.

This is a 6.0?

As you know, service intervals for the trans is 30K and 15K for severe duty application.. Being that 'those' intervals were not being met, would red flag me for required maintainance on the rest of the truck.. Any service docs that they can provide prior to sale? Weather it missed it's scheduled trans services in NO WAY would require the trans to not be serviced.. It is possible that a trans/system that's overly contaiminated could create a problem with a flush, but even more of a risk leaving contaminated fluid, and fluid that has been broken down with heat, friction, as wellfluid shear causingreduced viscosity and lubricating properties....
